If you are looking for a super-easy way to develop your talent, I am here to show you some proven methods. Developing your talent should not be that difficult if you’re determined and could follow a simple, and proven method Just like an athlete champion are not made in the ring but the gym. Your talent is like a muscle, the more you use and exercise it the more it gives you.
Let me take you through steps.
1- Appreciate your talent- Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17-18 NIV.
It will be easier for you to develop your talent if you value and appreciate it as a gift from God that is important both to you and the giver of the receiver.
You seldom give attention to something valueless. But, valuables like gold, personal will, certificate, and important documents are kept in the bank vault because we appreciate their value. The guy who received one talent was sharply rebuked because he failed to appreciate the talent given to him. Matthew 25:24-25.
2- Concentrate on your winning edge-The easiest thing to become in life is to be you. Your talent will develop if you do not look at the superiority of other people’s talent, but focus your attention on well to do area while you do not look down on yourself on your not too good areas. If you are busy, improving on what you are good at you’ll become better by the day. You will agree with the saying that practice makes perfect.
3- Collaborate with others- Developing your skills may depend on the functioning ability of other people’s talents. You may not be able to go solo. For instance, an author needs a good publisher to showcase his talent. A singer needs a good record label to announce his gift to the world. A keyboardist, the drummer must synergize with a singer to bring out individual talents.

Look out for people and places that you can exercise your talent to bring out the best in you. Jesus didn’t go solo to accomplish his ministry, he collaborated with the disciples.
4- Invest in your talent- Act 18:26. Talents are potential that must be unearthed and polish like gold to bring out its beauty and worth.
I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded, now lives in you also. 6 For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 2 Tim 1:5-NIV.
Timothy’s mother, grandmother had laid the foundation couple with laying hands of Paul. But the major work has to be done by Timothy, that is fan into flame the latent gift in him. He gave him the recipe to do this. First, he has to be bold, second depend on the Holy Spirit, demonstrate Holy living among gentiles, and third be self-discipline.
Any talent that will not be lost in the crowd must be worked upon. Paul reinstated this in 2 Timothy 2:15. This you can do by going to school, attends seminars and training, buying books and video so you can leverage on the success story of those who had gone ahead of you.

5- Start now! By all means start now, anyhow, by any means, and at all times make use of your gift. A talent that will develop must be used. We know by doing. Most times you don’t even know you are gifted in a particular area until you start experimenting in that field.
As a youth, any opportunity you are given to serve is an opportunity to either discover a new area of competence or sharpen your already known ability. Your talent developed when you serve. The Bible says you become more productive when you serve your world and gladden God’s heart when you use your talent.
6- Move from your comfort zone. Develop your talent requires doing new things, experiment with new ideas, do something out of your familiar terrain. Experience has proved that when some people are given a different assignment from the one they are originally known for they do perform well. Doing new thing not only reveal a new area of competence, but improves the
already known area. You cannot discover other skills if you do not develop your current talent.

7- Set goals- Talent development requires you to set a realistic goal. When you set a goal, you are indirectly compelling yourself to pursue it to fruition it is convenient or not. What level or status are you currently in your area of competitive advantage and what level are you aspiring to be is dependent on your goal setting. This becomes your driving force. You will agree with me that he who aims at nothing hits nothing. This helps you evaluate your progress, challenge, and seek counsel where and when necessary.
8 – Choose a mentor- Developing talents will become a hard work without an example to follow. The best in Apollo’s was brought out through the mentorship of Aquila’s and Pricilla. In Acts 18:26. Apollo was willing to learn new things through training. Though he was zealous with the one, he knew but could not reach his full potential.
Timothy followed Paul mentoring so well that he could be left at Crete to continue the work Paul started. Talent discovery dictates you pattern your talent after someone who is already at the top of the ladder while you retain your uniqueness and identity. You can meet with them or contact them through their books, tapes, and training.
Though you are not competing with your mentor and his success is not the yardstick for judging yourself, but you could duplicate what he did to succeed and learn from his mistake as you learn the rope to stardom.
Having learned about the super-easy way to develop your talent is just to have the way to fulfilling your purpose. Deploying your talents not only makes your life easier, but also impacts your world. You should realize no one will do it for you and the earlier you start the better.
